I have just acquired an Intro 6.60. I would be grateful for any history of the design - for instance, was it a precursor to the Sonata? - and if anybody has any experience of sailing this design I would be grateful for their comments.

My father co-owned an Intro in the early 80's called Yella Belly (can't recall the sail number but he would!) Small Boat Sails by Jeremy Howard-Williams describes the Sonata as "the result of smoothing the chines of the Intro". He goes on to say that the reduction from 7/8 to 3/4 rig was due to the improved rating with negligable effect on performance due to the Sonata being "more easily driven" The 'Old man' is a bit of a ludite but could be persuaded to 'log on' if you have any specific questions.
