We have a lifting keel Sonata which we mainly cruise in the Thames Estury and do the odd club handicap race. I would like to fit headsail furling and would welcome any hints on the operation.IE what units to fit and any probs with doing so. I have spoken to Steeve Goacher and he can make a sail to fit for me and will modify my racing sails to suit ------------------

Martin The shroud base is not far enough aft to fully support a roller reefing genoa, and because of the tweakable nature of the mast it is not stiff enough stop bad luff sag. I have a colleague who has tried this and he has given up and reverted to hanked on sails. not so convenient but much more efficient, save the pennies and by a normal Goacher sail Regards Graham |
