I have crewed on J24/92's . I am thinking of buying a yacht to use initially as a day sailer with young family but eventually as a club racer. I need to be able to trail behind a 2.0lt car. I am looking to pay around the £6-6500 mark. Is a Sonata the boat for me? Would anyone be prepared to show me over a Sonata - perhaps for a short sail as I have never sailed on a Sonata?

Nigel You'd be welcome on the East Coast (Medway Yacht Club in particular) at any time: there are at least 20 different Sonatas which regularly race, who could show most combinations of general fitting out and equipment.
