National Championships

The National Championship runs once a year. We usually try to alternate between a northern and southern location on alternate years.

2010 Championships

A great event at Helensburgh Sailing Club – read Peter Booth’s report

Information on earlier years

is available in the archives section of the web site.

Cowes Week

A great regatta afloat and ashore with a class start for Sonatas. More background information on the Cowes Week page on this web site and at the Cowes Week web site.

Swinging harbour moorings (the cheapest and safe place to keep your boat) are available in Cowes for the whole of the event.

Ben Graham-Evans is helping to coordinate the Sonata Cowes entries this year. Contact Ben for help with moorings, news of the social scene and to get yourself on the essential "which pub are we all in" text updates after each race to improve SOD (sonata one design) camaraderie!

Sonata membership secretary Tom White is another man who knows about sonatas in Cowes, including moorings, launching and all kinds of other tips.

All you need to do is to enter Cowes ASAP – there are substantial discounts for early bookings. Please don' t be shy – enter Cowes week!!!
