Strangford Lough Yacht Club

Location Map

Strangford Lough is the largest sea lough in Northern Ireland, almost 20 miles long, 5 miles wide and designated as an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Special Scientific Interest. There is a wide and long sailing area to the eastern side while anchorages sheltered by islands lie to the west.

Strangford Lough Yacht Club was formed in 1935 and has just built a new clubhouse on its original site on the west side of the Lough at Whiterock Bay, Killinchy, overlooking sheltered moorings. The club has excellent launching facilities from 3 slips.

The club has an active and enthusiastic bunch of Sonata sailors and offers a warm welcome
