Sonata fin keel - fully refurbished - race ready

Furioso was bought in June 2026 and refurbished in order to compete at the Nationals in August 2026.

The refurbishment was extensive as follows:

Interior-

Stripped, dried and painted out in white.
New floors in teak veneer strips.
New headlining panels.
Simplified galley layout.
Chainplates removed and re-bedded
New wiring and lighting
New battery and switch panel
New engine mounting under companionway.

On deck-

All fittings including pushpits, pulpit & stanchions removed , reienforced and refitted.
New mainsheet traveller system with foot rest.
New Iroko timber gunwales. ( very smart! )
New ratchet blocks on mainsheet, jib sheets and spin sheets.
New solar panel.
New varnished washboards.
Rudder stripped and repainted.
New spinlock tiller extension.
New speed / depth and electronic compass instruments.
Tohatsu 3.5 hp 4 stroke outboard only used for 1 week at 2026 Nationals.

Below the waterline -

All old antifouling removed.
Gel shield epoxy with Coppercoat Over the top.
Coppercoat had 7 coats to enable burnishing to a smooth racing finish.
This makes her suitable for either dry sailing or full,season mooring as required.
Keel and joint refinished and smooth.

Rig -

The rig was fully serviced and new main, jib & spin halyards fitted.
New Dyform standing rigging fitted.

Sails -

Old sails are usable..
Full suit of brand new Goacher racing sails. ( only used for 4 days at Nationals 2026 )

Spinnaker.

Road trailer-

Following collection from Scarborough the trailer has 5 new tires and the breaks checked.
The base board ( under keel ) was replaced and carpeted.

A very solid trailer built for the boat many years ago. A good one!

The asking price of £9,500 does not represent the money spent on her refurbishment.
