Membership

The National Sonata Association needs your support. The aims of the Association are to promote the class, to inform and assist owners, to maintain the integrity of the class rules and history of boats in circulation, to organise sailing competitions and to maintain relationships with other bodies such as the Royal Yachting Association. Recently the Association has also been seeking to procure spare parts for the Sonatas which are no longer in production.

If you are not already a member we would be really pleased if you would join us. If you race a Sonata then you are obliged to join the Association. Membership costs only £30 per annum. Please head HERE to join.

As a member, you will:

Receive a digital Class Association Membership Certificate
Entitled to compete in National Sonata Class events.
Entitled to vote at the AGM.
Eligible for one of the three NSA stock masts should you break your mast (Subject to committee approval)
Be part of a community of enthusiastic Sonata sailors
Have Access historic boat details
Receive discounts in the 'Sonata Shop' on spare parts

'Araya' broke her rig on day two of the 2021 Sonata Nationals in Cowes. "Unfortunately we lost a days racing getting to Hamble to pick up the new mast but once fitted we managed to get back out racing for the last two days of the event, without the Association we would have been off the water for months."

'Sonic' needed a new mast in 2023 after the yard snapped her mast in two in an accident "I was really worried that the season was over for me (and family). The Class Association and yard got me going again in a week which is amazing. Association membership is a 'no brainer"
